Don’t you wish you could see a floor plan of the homes you are interested in looking at?
As a buyer or seller, you typically have one thing in common with each other; you are both buyers, just on different homes. That being said, the same things you are looking for in your next home as a seller, the buyer is looking for in your home. Of course everyone is interested in how many square feet of living space the home has; how many bedrooms and bathrooms; how many cars can I fit in the garage? Is there a fireplace? All of these can easily be found in most listings.
Do you remember when homes were only listed in Classified ads? You were lucky if you got an image of the front of the home with the “three bedroom two bath charmer” text. Now, online listings are standard. You can hopefully see many different views of the homes you are interested in while reading about fireplaces, air conditioning, gas or electric stoves, etc. What none of this begins to describe is how the home is arranged.
It’s a buyer’s market. There are tons of homes for sale. How does one home differentiate itself from another? One cost effective way to allow buyers to easily relate to their next home is to offer a floor plan. This way they can easily see the room sizes in relation to each other and how they are arranged. They can start to picture their furniture in the bedrooms and living areas, having parties around the kitchen island, or if the home is a good deal, maybe even get ideas for future expansion plans or renovations. Isn’t that what you would want to be able to see?
